Taking Noongar culture to the world
Storytelling through tribal dance
Distinctive sound of the didgerido
The telling of ancient stories through tribal dance, choreographed to the distinctive sounds of the didgeridoo and clapping sticks, stirs something within all Australians. The Noyt Kobori Cultural Dance Troup bring something uniquely Australian to every event they perform at.
Ranging in age from children to elders, the Noyt Kobori Spirit Dancers perform regularly at community events, gallery openings, schools and Welcome to Country ceremonies.
Troy’s passion for preserving his culture was the driving force behind forming the succesful dance troup. It not only allows him to share the Noongar culture to the world but it also allows him to work with local Indigenous youth by developing ‘on country’ programmes aimed at helping at risk young people, through interaction with positive role models from within their local community.
